Foot strength and control are absolutely essential for all dancers and performing artists. Strength and control are super important to protect against foot and ankle pain or injury. Of course, if you are working towards pointe work, or currently doing pointe, then you need more strength and control to both succeed at pointe and prevent injury!
If you’ve explored my content at all, then you will probably have realized that I’ve got loads of foot and ankle exercises. Well, I have another one for you today! Despite starting ballet at a young age, I was “blessed” (cursed) with stiff feet and ankles. It’s been a long-term project for me to develop effective foot and ankle workouts to improve pointe range and foot strength and control. So, here’s a quick little foot workout you can add to your warm-up or cool down. Grab an exercise band, if you have one!
Now, if you were blessed with banana feet, then I hope you know that you still need to strengthen you bendy arches!
