How do you improve your arabesque, attitude and extensions to the back? You need to train the strength in your lower back, glutes, and hamstrings, as well as control through your core. In this video, I demonstrate my favourite arabesque exercise. This exercise target all of the muscles at once, making it super time-efficient, perfect for busy dancers!
*Bonus* This exercise is great for your turnout muscles too!
To improve your arabesque, quality movement patterns when you perform this exercise are definitely important. Don’t be tempted to ‘cheat’ the exercises to get your leg higher! Work just to the maximum you can achieve with proper form. As you get stronger at the exercise, you’ll find that your leg height will start to improve quite quickly.
