Floor Barre Workout

I love floor barre. It’s a great low impact workout to strengthen your core, back and legs. As the name suggests, floor barre uses the principles of a traditional ballet barre, but lying or sitting on the floor. This change of position decreases the pull of gravity, which allows you to focus on your technique and target the strength in specific muscles. This makes floor barre a great way to improve your technique and dance specific muscles.

A floor barre workout is suitable for pretty much everyone! If you are new to dance, floor barre will help you learn how to engage the correct muscles and alignment when dancing. If you have been dancing for a while, floor barre will help you improve your technique and strength far more effectively than simply attending more classes.

Since floor barre is non-weight bearing, it’s also a great way to stay in dance shape if you are injured. You can actually strength your dance muscle and improve your technique, while you are recovering from injury.

In this video, I have recorded a full floor barre workout. This class is one that I have taught with my in-person classes. If you have any questions about the exercises, please leave a comment or send me a message.

Did you enjoy this class? If so, please let me know! Did you have any issues with the video or workout? Again, if so, please let me know so that I can create a better experience. I am excited to be teaching a full term of floor barre with my local, in-person students. I am hoping to record the classes so that you can participate at home, so I want to make sure the videos are easy to follow. If you would like to join the classes, please subscribe to my YouTube channel to stay up-to-date with my new releases!
