Improve your dance technique, ballet technique and performance with this quick but super-effective strength training workout. Strengthen your core, turn-out muscles, arabesque and more! Great for all levels – easily adaptable for beginner dancers, but you can really push yourself if you are a more experienced advanced dancer.
If you are serious about improving your dance technique, or if you simply want to keep yourself healthy and injury-free, you need to be adding strength training to your life. “Yes, of course I already know that”, I hear you say. “But I’m already exhausted from 5 dance classes a week”. Or maybe you struggle to find time to add yet another to-do into your busy schedule. With this in mind, I have created a new series of videos featuring quick strength training workouts that will still give you great results in minimum. These little mini-workouts are max 5 mins but will target *almost* your full body! Moreover, they will be dance-specific, meaning the exercises will work your muscles in specific patterns that will directly transfer to better dancing. Add these strength training mini-workouts to your warm-up before class, as a break from your desk, or really any time you can spare a few minutes!
In this first video, I go through a sequence that is indeed nearly full body, and will more specifically work your core, turnout muscles, and arabesque mucsles.
Any questions, let me know! Also, don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more great training tips. If you’d like a full length dance-specific strength and technique building workout, you can find a full floor barre class here.
